Fast pitch softball game

It would be wise to be more concerned about the ball's size, COR ratings, and compression to ensure it aligns with the league's specifications. Unlike the slow-pitch ball, the fast-pitch ball is created to have a more incredible speed off the bat. You will know the rate through the COR and compression ratings.

Again, note that just because a softball is designated as fast-pitch doesn't mean it will align with your league's rules. Before deciding on which softball to buy, here are a few things you should consider to make your choice easier. The core of a softball is composed of a synthetic mixture made using either kapok or polyurethane, a blend of rubber and cork.

The core's circumference differs based on league set standards. However, the materials are similar with all playing levels. Usually, the material is either synthetic or natural leather.

These leather swatches can be gotten in either optic yellow or white. In competitive cycles, note that yellow is regarded as the official color while white is seen as more suitable for slow pitches and recreational leagues.

The linen or color string stitching can be added in a raised or run-through line on the cover to enhance the grip. The seams are usually black, red, monochromic, or blue if the cover is made of leather material. Baseballs and softballs are alike in build, although they have some slight variances in some departments. Softballs are generally made up of a cover and core sewn together by stitching but do not have the midsection of yarn that you will find in a baseball. COR and compression talk about how far the ball will move when hit with a certain amount of power.

The reduction in the amount of force required to compress the ball by a quarter of an inch. On the other hand, COR is the measurement of the ball's bounce, and softballs that have a more excellent COR travel faster and farther. The league you are playing softball in will determine the size of softball ideal for play. Usually, competitive softballs measure between 10 inches and 12 inches. While in some slow-pitch city leagues, you may be expected to play with softballs measuring as big as 16 inches.

For young people, softballs measuring between 11 inches and 12 inches are the most suitable options. It's a plus if they are also lightweight as that makes them easier to handle. One unique thing about softballs is that they are pretty affordable and are cheaper than a bat or glove. You should, however, know that while you may use a glove or bat for a few seasons, you will need to use dozens of softballs in the same period, thus adding up to the overall cost. Hence, it's better to purchase softballs in bulk.

The leather balls generally cost more than synthetic ones. Also, note that there isn't much difference between the slow-pitch and fast-pitch balls. When buying multiple softballs, note that the ideal way for you to save money when buying them is to buy them in the dozen.

Non-traditional softballs are created for younger players, and they come with a soft exterior that has semblance with a tee-ball, and they cost almost the same as regulation softballs. Training softballs are usually heavier than their regulation counterparts and are designed to boost the pitcher's arm strength.

The last category is the dimpled softballs that look like a softball but with large seams. They are created for batting practice purposes, especially for auto-pitching machines. The game of softball is easy, fun, and exciting. The softball rules are easy, and the equipment is relatively inexpensive, making it the ideal sport for newbies and pros alike. One way to sustain the fun and excitement of playing softballs is to use the right equipment. The tips in this guide should help you find the most perfect balls that are best-suited to your needs.

Majority of softballs can withstand numerous bat strikes before they sustain any damage. However, when you observe nicks in the ball cover, you may need to get the ball replaced. You will notice that some of the holes for the seams may increase in size as the ball begins to wear out.

Note that the type of softball used depends on softball games. But I'm just proud of our kids and how they competed. I think the key to the game, our freshman had that bases-clearing single in the first inning.

It was awesome. I'm just proud of them. The junior from Stillwater stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning in a tie game and delivered. Glasgow smashed a two-run walk-off home run to centerfield to give Stillwater a win over Westmoore on Thursday. Stillwater recorded 14 hits in the win to advance to the Class 6A state semifinals.

In the close game, Stillwater struck first, plating two runs in the second inning and then another in the fifth. Westmoore responded with three runs of its own in the sixth to tie the game before Glasgow put Stillwater on top.

With the win, Stillwater continues its seven-game win streak. She, along with the rest of the SaberCats, had done it all last year en route to a Class 6A state championship. So when Southmoore fell behind early in the game, the SaberCats remained patient before blowing the game open in the 4th inning. And Sharp added to it, recording a 2-RBI double in the 5th.

Southmoore got everything it needed in the 4th and 5th innings, scoring seven unanswered runs to secure a come-from-behind win over Broken Arrow. Southmoore recorded 11 hits in the win. And finally our second time through the lineup we really started swinging it better and we hit a bunch of line drives and really started playing Southmoore softball.

Broken Arrow tallied just three hits on the night but it was able to take advantage of some Southmoore errors to put three runs across the plate in the third inning. But the three-run lead was all Southmoore would allow before it came storming back in the 5th inning. Overall, Southmoore recorded five runs in the 4th inning.

Payten Schibbelhute was still getting her groove back after missing an extended period of time this season. She's a great player. The Wildcats scored seven runs in the final two innings to put the game away.

They changed pitcher to gives us some issues on timing stuff. But the second time through against her, we kind of found our rhythm and started putting balls in play and making them play defense. Piedmont gets the final out on a throw down to first. The Wildcats advance to the Class 5A state semifinals. OKPreps pic. As Adriana Donnelly drew a walk in the seventh inning with the game tied, Looney brought in Katie Petrescu to courtesy run.

With Petrescu's exciting play, Pryor advances to the Class 5A state semifinals. I was glad that happened to her.

Pryor pitcher Brooklynn Stohler recorded eight strikeouts while Carl Albert's Marissa Frolich tallied seven in the close game. The scoreboard didn't read the way Coweta coach Blake Dunn wanted it to in the quarterfinal matchup.

The Class 5A defending state champions were on the ropes, down by a run in the bottom of the seventh inning. So he gave them some reassurance. The pitch usually starts from the grip and ends with a follow through after the ball is released from the hands of the pitcher. Accurate pitching requires accuracy skills in six different areas, which are the grip, windup, stance, release and follow through.
